Clipped, shaped, kept small?

We recently visited the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Columbus, Ohio. I was fascinated by the bonsai collection of many varieties of trees, meticulously and purposefully pruned to remain small.

I can relate. Through life, I have felt the work of darkness to keep me small, to not believe that God prepared good works for me to do. The message of the prince of this world (Satan) has been, “Keep quiet; don’t rock the boat; nobody wants to hear you.”

But the pruning of the Gardener, our Father (John 15) is to bear much fruit. God’s idea is to be so connected to the Vine that HE flows and there is life abundant - rich, full, thriving!

Believe the words of Jesus: “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came so that they would have life, and have it abundantly.” John 10:10

I wonder how much of my personality has been shaped by believing the lie that nobody wants to hear me. I see a root that goes back many many years. I believed that nobody cares therefore nobody wants to hear me. Nobody cares creates a wall of protection that sounds like “nobody cares so I don’t care”. Or “I’m an introvert so I do t like being around people.” It’s created a heart that can be cold and distant to people I don’t know. I’m grateful for the ICM community that is full of women that DO CARE. Although the unfolding is slow I feel safe in this community and can begin believing the truth. I am not small. I will not isolate. I am connected to the Vine. Only the Gardener has permission to prune me. Thank you, Michelle. ❤️❤️❤️

How did Jesus fight Satan?

I am digging into this topic, looking for ways to help my sisters who are battling darkness. Our first tool is:

  • Walk in the Light

Read Matthew 4:1-11. When the tempter, the devil, came at Jesus, how did He respond?

Please comment below - let’s walk this together and be confirmed to look like, walk like, talk like Jesus. 🔥

Jesus responded, “It is written…” He spoke truth that God had spoken - His words - not His own.

To each temptation, this was His response. I’m thinking it should be my response too. 🤗

- speak the Word

- believe the Word

- walk in the Word
